Description

A hearty breakfast casserole that combines beef sausage, flaky biscuits, and a creamy custard for a comforting morning meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sausage (or beef bacon)
  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the beef sausage over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes, using a wooden spoon to break it apart.
  3. While the sausage cooks, open the can of biscuits and cut each biscuit into quarters. Set aside.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the biscuit pieces, followed by the cooked sausage, and sprinkle half of the cheese on top. Add the remaining biscuit pieces and cheese.
  6. Carefully pour the egg-milk mixture over the entire casserole, ensuring it covers everything.
  7. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy your hearty casserole!

Notes

Feel free to use chicken sausage or another favorite meat for a different flavor profile. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
