Description
A hearty breakfast casserole that combines beef sausage, flaky biscuits, and a creamy custard for a comforting morning meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sausage (or beef bacon)
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the beef sausage over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes, using a wooden spoon to break it apart.
- While the sausage cooks, open the can of biscuits and cut each biscuit into quarters. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the biscuit pieces, followed by the cooked sausage, and sprinkle half of the cheese on top. Add the remaining biscuit pieces and cheese.
- Carefully pour the egg-milk mixture over the entire casserole, ensuring it covers everything.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy your hearty casserole!
