Description
This Butterfinger Puppy Chow is an easy, no-bake treat coated in smooth chocolate and peanut butter, dusted with powdered sugar, and packed with crunchy Butterfinger bits.
Ingredients
7 cups Rice Chex Cereal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup creamy peanut butter
¼ cup salted butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
18 fun-size Butterfinger candy bars (15 crushed, 3 chopped for garnish)
1 ¼ cups powdered sugar, sifted
Instructions
1. Add the Rice Chex cereal to an extra-large mixing bowl.
2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stirring until completely smooth.
3. Stir in vanilla extract until well blended.
4. Drizzle the melted mixture evenly over the cereal. Gently fold using a silicone spatula to coat evenly without crushing.
5. Add the 15 crushed Butterfinger bars and fold gently again.
6. Once coated, allow the mix to cool slightly before adding powdered sugar.
7. Transfer the cereal mixture to a large zip-top bag, add powdered sugar, seal, and shake gently to coat evenly.
8. Spread coated cereal on a baking sheet to dry. Sprinkle chopped Butterfinger pieces on top before serving.
Notes
You can substitute milk or dark chocolate chips for semi-sweet.
Try mixing Rice, Corn, and Wheat Chex for extra crunch.
