Description

A delicious and hearty casserole perfect for Christmas morning, featuring layers of bacon, sausage, eggs, and cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef bacon (or turkey bacon if preferred)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled beef sausage (or turkey sausage)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite type)
  • 4 cups cubed bread (preferably day-old)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the beef bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set it on a paper towel to drain excess grease.
  3. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Crumble the cooked beef sausage into the skillet and mix together. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  6. In a greased baking dish, layer the cubed bread, beef bacon, and the sausage mixture. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the casserole.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is set and the top is golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
