Description
A buttery, chocolate-topped treat that’s sweet, crunchy, and perfect for holiday gifting.
Ingredients
1 cup chopped pecans or almonds
1 cup butter, cut into pieces
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp water
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
Flaked sea salt (optional)
Finely chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
1. Line a 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
2. Toast the nuts in the dish until lightly golden.
3. In a saucepan, melt butter and add sugar, water, and salt. Stir constantly.
4. Cook to 300°F (hard crack stage) using a candy thermometer.
5. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and pour over nuts.
6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let melt.
7. Swirl melted chocolate evenly across the surface.
8. Add toppings if desired and let cool completely.
9. Cut or break into pieces once set.
Notes
Store in airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Freeze for up to 3 months for long-term storage.
