Description

Soft Gingerbread Cookies with Maple Glaze. Tender, soft, lightly crisp on the edges with a rich maple glaze.


Ingredients

3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1/3 cup molasses

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour 300 g

2 teaspoons baking soda

3/4 teaspoon salt

12 teaspoons ground ginger

Granulated sugar for rolling

1 tablespoon melted butter

1 tablespoon pure maple syrup

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar 180 g

2 tablespoons milk

Pinch of salt


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses.

3. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and ginger. Mix until soft dough forms.

4. Roll dough into small balls and coat in sugar. Bake 9 to 11 minutes.

5. Whisk glaze ingredients until thick then dip cooled cookies.

Notes

300 grams flour gives the perfect texture.

Use unsulphured molasses for best flavor.

Glaze cookies within 24 hours of serving for best appearance.
